For years, balanced twisted-pair copper cabling has been the dominant media in horizontal LAN infrastructure. With its easy, cost-effective installation and seamless support for remote powering technologies like power over Ethernet (PoE), copper cabling perfectly complements the ever-growing number of IP-based devices in today’s commercial LANs and intelligent buildings. This versatility makes copper cabling the go-to for connecting and powering everything from wireless access points (WAPs), surveillance cameras, and access control to digital displays, point-of-sale terminals, LED lighting, and more. And that’s not all. Copper cabling’s ability to handle 10 Gigabit Ethernet and beyond have generated broad deployment in enterprise data centers for switch-to-server links, out-of-band management, and KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) functions.
Siemon has been a pioneer in copper cabling systems for more than half a century, with over 400 patents specific to structured cabling under our belt. Since being the first to market with an end-to-end Category 6 system in 1998, we have continually innovated twisted-pair copper cabling and connectivity to fit customer needs and applications across the globe.
Siemon’s latest innovation in the evolution of twisted-pair copper is the UltraMAX™ UTP copper connectivity system designed to streamline installation. UltraMAX blends usability, quality, and performance within a common platform for Category 5e, 6, and 6A that lets you configure systems ideally suited to your needs, translating to lower costs and greater flexibility in today’s ever-changing technology landscape.
Siemon’s industry-leading Z-MAX® Category 6A UTP and shielded systems with cable, outlets, modular cords, patch panels, trunking cable assemblies, and work area solutions boasts the highest performance margins for critical transmission parameters, ensuring reliable and robust networks. This is achieved through Siemon’s innovative RJ-45 design with diagonally oriented IDC contacts and optimally tuned PCB-based plug and outlet that deliver superior crosstalk performance.
The end-to-end Z-MAX system streamlines deployments with an intuitive outlet design that optimizes each step of the termination process to eliminate errors and inconsistencies. With terminations completed in less than 60 seconds, Z-MAX sets the benchmark for UTP and shielded Category 6A termination speed and consistency. Z-MAX outlets can also be used with Siemon’s LightVerse® Copper/Fiber Combo Patch Panel that allows users to easily mix high-performance fiber optic and copper connectivity withing the same 1U of rack space.
The Z-MAX family extends its reach with the ingenious Z-PLUG™ field-terminated plug that exceeds all Category 6A performance requirements. Z-PLUG terminates to both UTP and shielded cables, solid and stranded, to create custom-length cables on the fly. It’s ideal for connecting directly to a wide range of IP-enabled IoT and smart building devices, from PoE lights and wireless access points to security cameras and digital displays. Z-PLUG’s shorter plug design with rounded edges makes it easy to connect to devices with limited space. Plus, the user-friendly termination tool and intuitive hinged lacing module ensure speedy and error-free terminations for rapid and reliable deployments.
Siemon’s Z-MAX® and MAX® Category 6 UTP cabling systems provide the perfect blend of performance and versatility for modern network infrastructure. With three levels of performance to meet or exceed ISO/IEC and TIA connecting hardware and channel performance specifications for use in 10/100/1000BASE-T applications, these end-to-end Category 6 systems include cables available in riser, plenum, LS0H, and OSP along with a wide range of connectors, couplers, outlets, patch panels, modular cords, trunking cable assemblies, and work area solutions.
For high-density areas, Siemon’s innovative 28 AWG SkinnyPatch™ 6 patch cords offers exceptional airflow and flexibility, while our BladePatch® 6 modular cords with innovative push-pull functionality allow easy access in tight spaces.
Z-MAX® modules are designed for efficiency and reliability. Their high-visibility icon system, enclosed IDC terminations, and ability to mount from the front or rear of a faceplate ensure fast and simplified error-free installation. These modules come in a hybrid design with door option for flat or angled mounting or in a keystone style. Patch panels come in angled or flat 24- or 48-port 1U configurations, with easy outlet installation and clear port identification.
Siemon also provides comprehensive Category 5e shielded and UTP systems, exceeding industry standards and offering contractor-friendly value. These systems include all the components you need for a complete Category 5e network– cable, modules, patch panels, modular cords, and S110 connecting blocks – including Premium Category 5e cables independently verified to perform to 160 MHz for Gigabit Ethernet.
For advanced copper system performance, Simeon’s fully shielded end-to-end TERA® Category 7A system surpasses ISO/IEC Category 7A/Class FA specifications and is virtually immune to alien crosstalk and internal crosstalk to deliver the most headroom for 10 Gigabit applications.
Built upon the high-performance Siemon TERA Category 7A/Class FA connector, our TERA Category 8.2 copper cabling system combines TERA connectors with Category 8.2 S/FTP 2000 MHz cable and patch cords to deliver a complete end-to-end system that surpasses ISO/IEC category 8.2/Class II specifications for 2-connector, 30-meter Class II channels for high-bandwidth 25 and 40 Gigabit applications.
Engineered for mechanical reliability in elevated temperature environments up to 75°C, TERA Category 8.2 supports auto-negotiation and is backwards compatible for copper-based Ethernet applications from 1 to 40 Gigabit in a variety of configurations.
The systems delivers superior internal and alien crosstalk and insertion loss performance compared to traditional Category 8/8.1 RJ45 systems.
Siemon’s Tera 8.2 system includes TERA-to-RJ45 patch cords for use in 2-connector switch-to-server connections in end of row (EoR) and middle of row (MoR) data center architectures. The system also includes Category 8 compatible RJ45-to-RJ45 patch cords for direct attach server connections in a top of rack (ToR) deployment and TERA 8.2 factory terminated and tested trunking assemblies for a faster, cost-effective alternative to individual field-terminated channels.
