Co-op (16-20 hours per week)

POSITION PURPOSE:

This position is responsible to support for support of the design engineering group.  Activities may include product component design and development from concept to production, support for engineering changes, and general Engineering support. Activities include customer contact, design verification, generation of component and assembly drawings and specifications for use by manufacturing, quality, suppliers and customers, and product validation.  The Design Engineer Co-op may be supervised by Engineers in a team environment as determined by the scope of the project and management. Responsible for managing and administrating both hard-copy and electronic specifications, as well as for execution of required document control practices. Also responsible for verification, implementation and validation of Engineering revisions that may be requested by Sales, Quality, Production or other departments.  The principles of Concurrent Engineering and the requirements of ISO 9001 shall be applied.

-Computer Aided Drafting (SolidWorks experience preferred)

-Microsoft skills (Excel, Word)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. In pursuit of BS Degree in a manufacturing related Engineering discipline.

2. SolidWorks experience

3. Desire for work experience in manufacturing environment

4. Familiarity with principles of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing

5. Attention to detail at all levels

6. Strong written and verbal communication skills

7. Report and proposal writing skills

8. Results oriented
