Position Purpose:
To effectively and efficiently set-up and operate press brake and/or punch press and other equipment in department including, but not limited to: timesavers, and insert machines in accordance to established guidelines, standards and customer specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Effectively and efficiently set-up and operate punch press and/or press brake.
- Effectively and efficiently handle the throughput of parts on punch press and/or press brake in accordance with inspection instruction sheets, blue prints, layouts, bills of materials and instructions in a timely and organized manner.
- Effectively and efficiently feeds parts through timesavers in accordance with inspection instruction sheets, blue prints, layouts, bills of materials and instructions in a timely and organized manner.
- Inspect processed parts ensuring that precision operations (punches, brakes, etc..) were performed; Reworks poor quality parts as necessary.
- Communicate with department supervisor and co-workers sub-standard conditions and potential process improvements; Provides continual input and suggestions for improving quality/productivity of department.
- Process scrap metal in accordance to departmental policies and practices.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience successfully working in a precision sheet metal environment, on set-up and operation of punch press or press brake.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- PC skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand complex blueprints
- Demonstrated ability to accurately perform duties that require basic math aptitude
- Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
