The Network Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the setup, validation, and testing of switch and server systems with a focus on interoperability, performance verification, and high‑speed cable assemblies. Responsibilities include product development support, customer interaction, diagnosing interoperability issues, cabling validation, EEPROM programming, and troubleshooting in both lab and customer environments.
This role requires a strong understanding of Ethernet, InfiniBand, IEEE, and MSA standards. The engineer will work closely with internal teams, customers, and external partners to ensure reliable operation and seamless interoperability of Siemon’s high‑speed cabling solutions with leading network equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- 5–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network engineering, or high‑speed interconnect validation
- Hands‑on experience with switches, servers, traffic simulation tools, and network test equipment
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, InfiniBand, and related networking protocols
- Experience with interoperability testing methodologies and troubleshooting techniques
- Proficiency in network hardware setup (switches, routers, patch panels, structured cabling)
- Familiarity with EEPROM programming and related industry standards
- Knowledge of IEEE, MSA, CMIS/I²C, and InfiniBand specifications
- Ability to read and produce network diagrams, schematics, and test configurations
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer‑facing support
- Organized, methodical, and detail‑oriented work habits
- Demonstrated initiative, follow‑through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under aggressive timelines
