Siemon Joins United Nations Global Compact to Advance Sustainability Goals

Siemon, a leading provider of high-performance network infrastructure solutions, proudly announces that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)initiative, further solidifying its commitment to responsible business practices. The UNGC, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, boasts over 15,000 companies and 3,800 non-business signatories spanning 160 countries.

The UN Global Compact urges companies worldwide to align their strategies and operations with ten universally accepted principles encompassing human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. As a participant in the UNGC, Siemon will actively report on its progress in implementing these principles.

Siemon’s manufacturing practices prioritize energy and material efficiency in full compliance with international standard ISO: 14001 Environmental Management Systems. They achieve this through process efficiency, lean manufacturing, and sustainable product design. Siemon products are specifically engineered to reduce material usage and can be disassembled for material recovery. Additionally, packaging is thoughtfully designed to minimize materials and promote recyclability. Customers have the option to return end-of-life products and packaging to Siemon for recycling.

Transport and logistics are streamlined through regional distribution points and collaboration with authorized distribution partners. Siemon actively encourages energy-efficient modes of transportation through consolidated container deliveries by sea or rail and promotes fuel efficiency and incentivizes the use of hybrid and electric vehicles by our employees.
