Ready to Go

Ready to Go
A hospital in the mid-west is preparing for the possibility of needing thousands of additional beds before COVID-19 peaks in their state, which would mean rapidly expanding their network infrastructure. Although the exact amount of material that will be needed is unknown as of now (copper and fiber cable, patch panels, and jacks), our team at Siemon assured them that we would begin reaching out to our distributor and prepping our own inventory in order to be able to immediately meet their needs.

A hospital required additional server and storage capacity within their colocation data center space to meet increased demand due to COVID-19. Both the colo and the hospital are currently using a variety of Siemon copper and fiber products, and with the project timeline moved up, they reached out to Siemon with an order.Siemon received the order and within 72 minutes the order was ready for carrier pickup. This project was able to be completed quickly thanks to the incredible communication and commitment of Siemon’s customer service, logistics, and product management teams.

Donating N95 Masks

Donating N95 Masks
Siemon has recently donated 300 N95 masks that we had in our facility and have recently purchased online to our local hospitals, and we will continue to do so. If you have N95 or surgical masks for your own personal use, experts are encouraging donations to the health care system. Look online for tips on how to make masks for your own personal use instead.

Temporary Hospital

Temporary Hospital
Currently, a State University of New York is being set up as a temporary hospital due to COVID-19. The University’s IT staff urgently needed product to expand their operations in order to support emergency response teams such as FEMA, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense. The University relied on Siemon to meet their needs, and our teams at Siemon quickly provided support and ensured the University IT staff was equipped with everything they needed to complete the expansion.

A Top Priority

A Top Priority
Recently, a company that manufactures respiration/ventilation systems began expanding a production line and was in quick need of cabling solutions. Knowing every second counts these days, our team worked together to get their order out same day! Siemon is acting safely and swiftly every day to support those in need of our cabling and connectivity services in the fight against COVID-19.

Continued Support

Continued Support
Siemon has continued to support a local hospital’s emergency projects. There have been several last-minute emergency projects across their facilities to help with the influx of patients. The most recent emergency project involved re-cabling two temporary floors. A Siemon Certified Installer has been working 14- to 16-hour days to get these projects completed. The hospital’s preferred distributor has been bringing in extra stock to support these projects. However, without having any notice of these projects until one or two days before they are starting, the distributor’s inventory isn’t always enough. Siemon’s customer service, planning, and shipping departments have been instrumental in successfully processing these crucial orders and ensuring the material is ready, sometimes within the same hour, for pickup by the contractor.

"As work from home life increases, Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) has had to get creative to support our telehealth services. The Siemon Z-Plug has made throughput challenges much easier to solve and has not failed us yet. Simply put, the Z-Plug has been essential in keeping our Doctors and Nurses connected to patients during these rapidly changing times. On behalf of all NCH essential personal - we thank the Siemon Z-Plug division for delivering such a reliable and innovative product into the homes of front-line heroes. "
