This is a "hunter" role requiring previous experience in developing business opportunities within the high-tech data center, telecom, and emerging tech markets. Focus is on high volume equipment-to-equipment connections within the Western region of the US. This technical sales position will interact directly with market leading OEMs/ODMs of network equipment and their integrators. The primary sales channel is direct B2B.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop new sales opportunities by working with our Sales and Market Managers to strategically target specific accounts and key decision makers that have been predetermined to align well with products and services offered by Siemon. This position is also responsible for managing and developing an existing customer base that has great growth potential.
The ideal candidate will have a high technical aptitude as they will be primarily interfacing with Product Managers, Mechanical, Electrical and Signal integrity Engineers to articulate the value of Siemon’s products, capabilities, and services.
The Business Development Representative is a high visibility position and will be a key member of the sales team. With our explosive growth, this is an exceptional opportunity for the right individual with the ability to make a substantial contribution.
An undergraduate degree in engineering is desired along with a strong technical background in data networking.
Strong applications knowledge of copper and fiber cabling and connectivity in various vertical markets including but not limited to Data Center and Telecom.
Demonstrated ability to work directly with and provide value-add applications expertise to OEM's/ODM’s and Integrators of network equipment and solutions.
Self-starter with demonstrated ability to develop business plans, establish priorities and organize activities.
Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal - receptive to constructive feedback - confident and comfortable speaking in front of groups of varying size.
Experience in the OEM connector industry with an understanding of design and manufacturing processes – able to identify product solutions to meet the needs of OEM customers.
Ability to travel up to 50%; ability to work outside of normal business hours.

Effective organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrated sound judgement and decision-making ability.
Reliable, dependable, and accountable to themselves and the organization.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Cloud-sharing platforms (Google Drive, SharePoint) and popular video conferencing software apps (MS Teams, Zoom, WebEx, etc.)
