Co-op (16-20 hours per week)
POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for providing engineering support to manufacturing for new and existing products and processes. Assist in ensuring effective transitions of new products from engineering to manufacturing while identifying and implementing improved methods for production.
Assist in analyzing and improving existing production methods in the areas of materials, processes, and tooling. Assist in follow-through with solutions by efficient use of resources such as Development Engineering, Quality, Automation and Purchasing. Must be able to work independently and on a team to formulate solutions or recommendations and must be able to assist with implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
In pursuit of BS Degree in a manufacturing related Engineering discipline, Junior or Senior level only
SolidWorks experience
Desire for work experience in manufacturing environment
Familiarity with principles of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing
Attention to detail at all levels
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Report and proposal writing skills
Results oriented
Knowledge of process improvement methods (process flow analysis)
Quality standards (ISO 9000) knowledge a plus
Prior experience in a metal stamping and injection molding environment a plus
