Siemon Showcases 113 Years of Innovation at Connecticut Historical Society

November 15, 2016. Watertown, CT - The Siemon Company, a leading manufacturer of high performance low voltage infrastructure solutions headquartered in Watertown, is pleased to announce its participation in Connecticut Innovates!-a new exhibition at the Connecticut Historical Society that aims to explore the environment, people and resources that has led Connecticut to be a hot-spot of innovation. Siemon's display at Connecticut Innovates! showcases the company's rich 113-year history of innovation that began with Carl F. Siemon's expertise in plastics in 1903.

The Connecticut Innovates! exhibit runs from November 11, 2016 through March 25, 2017 at the Connecticut Historical Society Museum at One Elizabeth Street in Hartford, Conn. Siemon is proud to join the ranks of State's greatest longtime innovators like United Technologies (Pratt & Whitney), Lockheed Martin (Sikorsky), General Dynamics (Electric Boat), Stanley Black & Decker, Ovation Guitars and more-all of whom contributed to the fact that between 1790 and 1930, Connecticut issued more patents per capita than any other state in the U.S.

As a pioneer in plastics, manufacturing and technology, Siemon's Connecticut Innovates! exhibit includes the company's 1906 superior 3-pole connecting block that was fashioned out of Carl F. Siemon's refined hardened plastic compound and became a staple product for AT&T, as well as variety of plastic innovations that left their mark over the years and developed Siemon's well-earned reputation as a leader for high-quality, dependable products.

Also on display is an array of Siemon's industry leading network infrastructure components, from "66" blocks that became the standard for telephone systems starting in the 1960s to the company's now leading copper and fiber network infrastructure components for data centers, local area networks (LANs) and intelligent buildings.
