Siemon Expands MapIT G2® Smart Fiber Enclosures with Multifiber Plug-and-Play Option
Watertown, CT — Siemon, a leading global network infrastructure specialist, is pleased to expand its line of MapIT G2 Smart Fiber Enclosures with plug-and-play multifiber connectivity, allowing complete intelligent visibility and control of fiber patching in the data center.
Available with MTP to LC connectivity in both multimode (OM4) and singlemode (OS2) versions, the new plug-and-play smart fiber enclosures accommodate 24 duplex LC ports (48 fibers) in a single rack mount space with four MTP connections on the back for connecting to 12-fiber trunk cables. Ideal for fiber-intensive installations, MapIT G2 technology brings intelligence directly to the fiber enclosure, displaying information about each fiber jumper locally at the graphic LCD and LEDs on the enclosure or remotely via RJ45 I/O control connections and feature-rich MapIT software. Through real-time port monitoring and tracing capability, MapIT G2 provides a complete overview of the network and identifies faults, unauthorized connections and unused ports to improve troubleshooting response time, work order processes, security and asset management.

MapIT G2 Smart Fiber Enclosures with plug-and-play connectivity include integrated fiber managers for secure jumper routing and a sliding drawer for easy access to the connectivity. MapIT G2 Smart Fiber Enclosures are extremely efficient, using up to 78% less power than competing systems, running cool for reduced heat generation and effectively supporting high-density with up to 48 fibers in a 1U space. Highly scalable, the enclosures can support systems ranging up to 1000 or more enclosures and can be connected in series using Master and Distribution Control Panels. The new MapIT G2 Smart Fiber Enclosures for plug-and-play connectivity are also available in field-upgradable MapIT Ready versions for a simple and cost-effective migration path to intelligent infrastructure management.
