Siemon Names Robert C. Carlson, Jr., Vice President of Global Marketing

New Position Reinforces the Company's Commitment to Serving the Structured Cabling Needs of Enterprises Throughout the World

Robert C. Carlson, Jr

WATERTOWN, CT — The information technology needs of today's global enterprises have never been so diverse. Emerging and converging applications like Voice over IP, IP video, telemedicine and many others have caused businesses today to think long and hard about the infrastructure upon which this information is flowing. What's more, this infrastructure is no longer just local. Through Virtual Private Networks and the proliferation of the Internet, today's enterprises and their networks spread truly across the entire globe. Companies that supply products for the transmission of information need to pay close attention to the growing global demands of their customers. Siemon recognizes the vital importance of understanding the real needs of its customers globally. To reinforce this commitment, they have announced today that Robert C. (Bob) Carlson, Jr., has been named to the newly created position of Vice President of Global Marketing.

Bob has been with Siemon for over ten years and has continually excelled in positions of increasing responsibility. Starting his career at The Siemon Company as an engineer in 1992, Bob quickly showed real promise - designing many new products and securing several patents for the company and soon was promoted to Senior Engineer. Recognizing his significant accomplishments and his understanding of market needs, Siemon promoted Bob to Marketing Manager in 1997. In 2000 Bob moved from marketing into sales taking responsibility for US Sales of Siemon cabling products and was named National Sales Manager. He was elected an officer of the company in September 2001 and became Vice President of National Sales (U.S.) before being named Vice President for Sales for North America in February 2003. Bob has also served as a leader helping to guide Siemon towards its goal of becoming a true global operation. He holds a BSME degree from the University of New Haven, CT.

"I am extremely excited about this very challenging opportunity," said Bob Carlson, in a recent statement. "The needs of the market globally are vastly different from any individual country or region and I look forward to gaining the insight of the global marketplace and helping to guide the company's marketing efforts toward increased market share and brand recognition."

In his new role, Bob will have direct global responsibility for Marketing Communications, Product Line Management, Market Management and Customer Support Services and report directly to Carl N. Siemon, President of the Company.
