Siemon Launches New Online Catalog

New interactive catalog provides the foundation for next generation networks

WATERTOWN, CT — Structured cabling systems are becoming more important with every passing day. Bandwidth hungry applications like Voice over IP, streaming video and converging services such as building automation and security are cumulatively taxing current cabling infrastructures beyond their capabilities. In order to meet the ever-increasing demands of today and tomorrow, networks need to be built right from the start.

The Siemon Company, a world leader in the field of network cabling, recognizes the importance the physical infrastructure plays in delivering the services end-users need now and in the future. Celebrating it's 100 anniversary in 2003, The Siemon Company has for over 100-years been developing and marketing advanced solutions to shape the way companies communicate and meet specific customers needs. Now, they are launching their new interactive, online product catalog to help customers deploy a network infrastructure solution that will enable their businesses well into the future.

"Cabling systems are the heartbeat of business today," says Carrie Higbie, Siemon's Networking Applications Market Manager. "It all starts with the physical layer. Your infrastructure determines if your electronics function properly and assures that your investment in them remains protected. If your infrastructure is not sufficient to handle the increased burden of today's larger applications and converging services, then your business is headed for trouble. This new online catalog provides the resources and the tools you need to build a solid infrastructure that will last well into the future and support the emerging applications that your business will want to deploy." White papers are available on a variety of topics at www.siemon.com/us/white_papers/

The e-catalog mirrors Siemon's 2003 Centennial Edition Catalog(released earlier this year) and is filled with the industry's most expansive line of products. The e-catalog highlights some of Siemon's newly released systems and features products from the new 10G ip TM solution. These products include XGLO (10 Gb/s laser optimized) fiber products, TERA TM, the world's best performing and industry standardized Category 7 connector and 10G 6 TM - a full line of UTP and screened connecting hardware that is designed to support 10G Ethernet and applications requiring speeds up to 10Gb/s over copper.
