Siemon Honored with Green Circle Award
In Recognition of its Commitment to Preserving the Environment
This award, given by the State of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, is granted each year to companies and individuals for promoting pollution prevention, waste reduction, natural resources conservation, and environmental awareness.
Siemon was awarded with this honor for its commitment to helping preserve the environment by significantly reducing its electrical usage with the installation of variable frequency drives, more efficient lighting, and installation of premium efficiency motors. Jeff DuPaul, Siemon's assistant plant engineer who headed up the project, stated, "The Siemon Company is proud to be an environmentally friendly enterprise and we make every effort to continually implement environmental improvements at our facilities. Many companies may view these upgrades as costly expenditures, but in reality, our installation of new drives, lighting and motors not only helped the environment, it also had less than a one-year payback. It's an investment that helps everyone."
The Siemon Company proudly accepted the Green Circle Award in a ceremony. Siemon has a long-standing reputation for its environmental consciousness. In addition to winning numerous environmental awards such as the William O.
Jeffrey III Irmco Environmental Improvement Award, a CBIA Environmental Success Award, induction into the EPA's New England Star Track Program, and ISO 14001 certification, Siemon has won the State of Connecticut Green Circle Award in three of the past four years, making Siemon one of the few multiple-time winners.
