The Siemon Company Achieves ISO 14001 Certification

Lloyds’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), a leading international certification body, has recently awarded approval to The Siemon Company to the international standard ISO 14001 for their Environmental Management System.

The Siemon Company, a leading telecommunication cabling system and component manufacturer, located in Watertown, Connecticut, set a goal for achieving the Certification after receiving the William O. Jeffery III Environmental Improvement Award . The certification process took 10 months to complete and makes The Siemon Company one of a very select group of U.S. organizations that have achieved ISO 14001 Certification. At this point in time only 1 in every 2,000 (approx.) manufacturing companies in the United States are ISO 14001 Certified.

Carl N Siemon, President and CEO commented: "The Siemon Company has long been an environmentally concerned company and we felt it was a natural step to formalize the environmental practices we were already following. Formal certification of our Environmental Management System will insure to our customers and community that The Siemon Company is committed to continual environmental improvement."
