Siemon highlights its high density solutions at Data Centre World
Siemon, the leading network infrastructure specialist, will attend this year's Data Centre World Conference & Expo - which takes place at London's Olympia between 29th February and 1st March 2012 - to demonstrate its innovative high density solutions which have been designed to maximise the use of available space.
One of the many highlights on stand D25 will be two of Siemon's VersaPOD cabinets that will be fully configured with equipment from the company's 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet Plug and Play fibre patching solution that is based on pre-terminated MTP fibre trunks and cassettes for simplicity, rapid deployment and reliability.
Designed to meet the high density requirements of the modern data centre, Siemon's VersaPOD can reduce the number of cabinets required by as much as 20 per cent by leveraging the vertical space between bayed cabinets for patching and cable management. This frees critical horizontal space for active equipment and provides the ultimate density in the minimum floor space.
Also on display will be the company's Z-MAX Category 6A 10 Gigabit Ethernet solution as well as its TERA Category 7A system, which is the world's highest performing twisted pair shielded cabling system for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and beyond.
Highlighting the diversity of Siemon's offering, visitors will be able to experience its MapIT G2 next generation intelligent infrastructure management (IIM) solution that allows 24/7 monitoring and control of the physical layer data centre environment, while providing Sarbanes-Oxley compliant audit trails.
Continuing the theme of space utilisation, delegates at the Data Centre World Conference will also get the opportunity to attend a presentation by Siemon's globally renowned data centre infrastructure expert, Alberto Zucchinali, who will discuss the massive impact that initial cabling design choices can have on long-term space efficiency.
During his presentation in the Infrastructure and Facilities Theatre on 1st March at 10.00am, Zucchinali will evaluate the range of space saving options available to enable customers to optimise their data centre footprint early on in the design phase. Highlighting the range of options currently available, he will also examine the impact of 10 Gigabit Ethernet and look at the impact of 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet next generation cabling on data centre design and architecture.
'We are looking forward to demonstrating why Siemon continues to lead the way in the design and manufacture of network infrastructure solutions,' commented Steven Foster, Siemon's managing director EMEA. 'By visiting stand D25 and talking to our experts, data centre managers will be able to see for themselves how our technical solutions can simplify their decision making processes.'
