Siemon Partners with iTRACS® to Launch MapIT™
A new intelligent infrastructure cabling system to manage and protect your IT investment has been launched by Siemon, in a strategic partnership with the iTRACS Corporation.
MapIT is a complete advanced intelligent infrastructure management solution, which merges two industry-leading technologies - advanced Siemon copper and fibre connectivity with innovative iTRACS software.
This powerful combination provides groundbreaking data transmission capabilities plus the ability to discover, track, manage and protect physical layer connections and business assets.
iTRACS is recognized as the global leader in network infrastructure tracking, reporting and asset management systems. When iTRACS software is used in conjunction with Siemon's MapIT connecting hardware, the system monitors connectivity of mission-critical connections in data centres and wiring closets in real time 24/7, automatically updates network database documentation, detects unauthorized moves, adds and changes, and alerts the system administrator via pager, email, alarms, photos, or feeds in-house or third party management or monitoring systems.
Customers around the world have come to depend on Siemon for next generation physical layer cabling solutions. Siemon MapIT copper and fibre patch panels and modular patch cords/jumpers have been reengineered to include iTRACS sensor technology. These components feature robust gold-plated sensor contacts, which track physical layer connections and transmit that data to the iTRACS software. Unlike other systems where sensor pads or pins wear and may eventually fail after long-term use, Siemon MapIT contact reliability has been lab validated and is covered by a 20-year warranty when installed by a Siemon/iTRACS Certified Installer.
