The Siemon Company Wins Connecticut Exporter of the Year Award

Watertown, CT — Each year since 1975, The Connecticut District Export Council & The Connecticut Department of Economic & Community Development selects an individual whose contribution to exporting stands tall among his or her peers. This year the "2002 Exporter of the Year" award was presented to Carl N. Siemon, president of The Siemon Company.
The Exporter of the Year award is part of the Connecticut World Business Awards. The recipients of these awards were recognized during a June 5th event at The Grassy Hill Country Club in Orange, CT that was attended by about 100 people.
As a result the strong growing global demand for the Siemon Cabling System, Siemon's exports have increased substantially over the past ten years. As a result, the Connecticut District Export Council & The Connecticut Department of Economic & Community Development has recognized Siemon's unique contribution to the international export community in Connecticut.
"During our 99 years of business, The Siemon Company has reinvented itself many times. At the turn of the 20th century we were a small start-up serving the needs of the fledgling telecommunications industry," stated Carl Siemon. "Over the years we have anticipated change and adapted to meet the needs of our customers. Today, we have evolved into a global supplier of cabling systems for the internet generation. I am proud to accept this award on behalf of the many hard-working, talented Siemon employees who work outside the United States. Our international business has come a long way in the past ten years, and we believe that this is just the beginning."
