Product Development Process

To ensure that our clients requirements are translated into exact product specifications, our product engineers will engage with them through every process phase. The design and development process for new product development is divided into 5 stages.

  • Stage 0 - Scoping: Preliminary work to define the requirements and financial business case. This stage is completed by the requestor prior to project approval by the Project Alignment Committee.
  • Stage 1 - Feasibility: Develop project concepts and refine the business case. Define and refine product requirements and project financial justification. Note: in simple or clearly defined projects creating the project schedule may be the only stage 1 activity. In this case, a concept review meeting should happen within 4 weeks of the start of the project and define the project schedule. This stage-gate is approved or rejected at Project Alignment Committee.
  • Stage 2 - Development: Detailed development of the product design and production process.
  • Stage 3 - Implementation: Bringing the design into production.
  • Stage 4 - Launch: Begin promoting and selling the new product.
