Global appointment at Siemon
Watertown, CT — Siemon, the network infrastructure specialist, has recruited Mark Hawkins MBA as global finance market manager.
Hawkins will be co-ordinating Siemon's global operations within the finance sector, working with major clients worldwide. His extensive track record is in the management of relationships with major banks and financial institutions, dealing with end users, consultants and the channel.
Hawkins joins Siemon from Systimax where he was global account manager and worked predominantly in The City of London. Prior to that he worked for WorldxChange Communications and Telewest (now Virgin Media), where he managed major accounts across a range of sectors.
In addition to his management qualifications, Hawkins has electrical and electronic engineering qualifications and began his career as a design engineer. He worked as a senior designer for major consultants such as Ove Arup & Partners, W S Atkins & Partners and McDermott Engineering.
According to Hawkins, Siemon was the right choice for a number of reasons; "This is a great opportunity and the next obvious step," he said, "there's a great deal of synergy between my recent work in the finance market and the requirements for Siemon. I perceive the company to be perfectly positioned for further growth in this market due to their forward-thinking approach and continual investment in technological development."
Hawkins will commence his new post with an extensive induction period at Siemon head offices in Watertown, USA where he will be briefed by the executive board and the technical team.

When he's not flying around the world Mark enjoys cycling and boating and playing the saxophone in a band. With his musical talent he has appeared at The Pink Elephant Party in London to raise funds for various charities. Mark is married and has two daughters.
