Las Vegas - Interop 2007 — Bluesocket®, a leader in open wireless network, security and management solutions, and Siemon, a globally recognized leader in network cabling systems, today announced they have entered into a co-marketing agreement to jointly promote their wired and wireless solutions to enterprise and government customers across the United States.
The companies will be working together to develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for a cohesive wireless/wired offering. Benefiting from the expertise of each company, customers will be able to better integrate their wired and wireless networks and improve overall IT efficiency and performance. As part of the agreement, Siemon will recommend and refer customers to Bluesocket as they evaluate their wireless network needs.
"In partnering with Siemon, we are fostering an environment that leverages the best of both wired and wireless technologies for a seamless networking experience," said Mads Lillelund, CEO of Bluesocket. "We are excited to partner with a company that has a longstanding reputation for quality solutions and a vast network of the industry's leading installers. This partnership will serve the growing need for integration and accelerate the ongoing market shift to IP convergence."
The majority of enterprise IT installations are an overlay of wireless onto wired networks. This approach enhances the wired network by offering greater flexibility and mobility for enterprise customers. As such, the partnership between Bluesocket and Siemon will enable each company to broaden its customer base.
"Many cabling system companies are now offering their own branded wireless solutions," said Robert Carlson, vice president of global marketing at Siemon. "Our approach is different because we will remain focused on best-in-class, innovative copper and fiber IT cabling solutions, while referring our customers and partners to complementary companies - like Bluesocket - who deliver superior wireless solutions. This will enable the streamlined implementation of emerging technologies like voice over Wi-Fi and fixed mobile convergence."
Bluesocket has a strong track record of delivering a complete wireless solution to a variety of markets, including enterprise, healthcare and government. Its end-to-end WLAN product family is easy to manage and provides industry-leading security to the wireless infrastructure. Recently, the company announced several enhancements to its BlueSecure Controller line including improved scalability, security, and administration and system management capabilities (see "Bluesocket Unveils New WLAN Product Portfolio," Feb. 26, 2007).
