WATERTOWN, CT - Siemon, a recognized leader in network cabling systems and components, has released a new industrial-grade fiber optic connector suitable for use in harsh environments. The Industrial LC, an IP66/IP67-rated connector, designed for the rigors of industrial environments, is based on the industry-standard LC fiber optic connector encapsulated in a high-impact, chemical-resistant thermoplastic housing. Featuring both plug and outlet components with triple redundant sealing, this housing is immune to dust, moisture, wash-down, vibration, and temperature extremes. The connector housing is a variant of Siemon's proven, tri-pin bayonet Industrial MAX RJ45 connector, which has been widely accepted and utilized in the harsh-environment market for over three years. The Industrial LC is a duplex-style LC fiber connector, compatible with standards-compliant optical fiber, including 50 and 62.5 micron multimode and meets ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B.3 and ISO/IEC 11801 Ed.2.0 specifications. In addition to encapsulation, the Industrial LC affords users an expanded operational temperature range and superior strain relief capabilities. This connector can be easily field terminated, and the outlet will also accept a standard LC multi-mode plug.
