For Immediate Release The Siemon Company’s Charity Motorcycle Ride to be Held July 6thCharity ride will benefit local youth center and celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary Watertown, CT — The Siemon Company, a world-renowned leader in the enterprise network cabling market is continuing its year-long centennial celebration by giving back to the community – a philosophy by which they have lived for the last one hundred years. Previously scheduled for June 1st but postponed due to inclement weather, the upcoming charity motorcycle “poker run” will now be held Sunday July 6th, and will benefit the Water-Oak Community Youth Center, Inc. The Youth Center, established three years ago, is dedicated to fostering social development, character and community spirit in the 12-18 year old residents of Watertown and Oakville, CT. At the same time, in honor of the company’s 100th anniversary, the town of Watertown, CT will be officially renaming the road that runs through the Siemon campus from Princeton Road to “Siemon Company Drive.” “I am thrilled to be able to share The Siemon Company’s success over the past one-hundred years with the children of Watertown,” said Carl Siemon, President of The Siemon Company. “These children, and others like them are the future of the Siemon Company. They will be the next generation engineers, sales people and skilled craftsmen that will help lead Siemon and the world, to even better things in the next hundred years. Therefore it is with great pleasure that I announce that The Siemon Company will be matching all the proceeds from this charity ride 100%.” Siemon’s centennial coincides with the 100th birthday of another American legend, The Harley-Davidson Motor Company. The July 6th “100 Year Ride,” however, is open to any and all bikes. Ticket prices are $15.00 for single riders and $25 for double riders. The charity ride will cover a pre-determined route through the picturesque Litchfield County hills. Beginning and ending at the company’s headquarters in Watertown, Connecticut, this event is also a “poker run,” meaning riders will stop at four checkpoints to draw a playing card. At the completion of the run, the top poker hands win prizes. The event schedule is below: 9:30 A.M. Registration of bikes. Complimentary coffee, doughnuts, and commemorative pins.
