1000BASE-TX

The TIA TR-42 sub-committee, the ATM forum technical committee and the IEEE 802.3 committee collaborated together to create this standard (ANSI/TIA/EIA-854) which specifies a full duplex Ethernet physical layer interface for 1000Mbit/s operation over a maximum 100 meter long category 6 twisted-pair cabling channel. The 1000BASE-TX application will take advantage of the improved transmission performance provided by category 6 cabling recently developed by TIA under the ANSI/TIA/EIA-568B-2.1 standard.
